Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for OnePoint and other IB/MB vendors on integration matters, including configuration and development work within APIMS.

  • Design, build, and maintain middleware and integration components (APIs, message queues, API gateways) connecting internal systems to the vendor-hosted Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, and T24 (via APIMS) platforms. 
  • Provide Level 2 (L2) technical support for APIMS, Internet Banking, and Mobile Banking integration incidents, escalating to the vendor and tracking issues through to resolution. 

  • Own server provisioning, deployment, and configuration end to end for middleware and integration workloads. 

  • Monitor system availability, performance, and uptime for APIMS, Enterprise System, Internet Banking, and Mobile Banking integrations, proactively identifying and resolving degradation before it affects customers. 

  • Define, track, and report on internal SLAs/SLOs for integration services, ensuring reliability targets are met and gaps are escalated early. 

  • Track vendor SLAs across all integration touchpoints and escalate breaches to the Senior Manager, Digital Development. 

  • Investigate and remediate Vulnerability Assessment (VA) and security review findings affecting integration and middleware components. 

  • Implement structured request tracing (correlation IDs), monitoring, and alerting for integration traffic to detect issues early and support faster diagnosis during production incidents. 

  • Document integration architecture, vendor contracts, and known failure modes as runbooks for use during incidents. 

  • Support UAT, release validation, and technical checks for vendor releases touching APIMS, Internet Banking, or Mobile Banking. 

  • Collaborate closely with MB & IB and Backend Development teams to resolve cross-system incidents that span application and integration boundaries. 

  • Implement middleware security and data integrity best practices across all integration workloads. 

  • Ensure integration systems comply with banking regulations, internal security policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards. 

  • Other assignments and tasks as assigned by line manager. 

Qualification

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field. 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in backend or integration engineering, working with RESTful and SOAP 
  • web services. 
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. 
  • Experience with Partner Integration and Enterprise Integration patterns is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot required. 
  • Good understanding of OOP and OOAD design patterns. 
  • Experience with API gateways, message queues, and middleware components such as Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ. 
  • Experience with third-party partner coordination, SLA tracking, and Level 2 production support. 
  • Good understanding of core banking systems, mobile banking, Internet banking applications, and system integration patterns. 
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes is a strong plus. 
  • Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and vulnerability remediation is a strong plus. 
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki) is a plus. 
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
